A man arrested in connection with a sexual assault in Crewe has been released pending further investigation Cheshire Police have confirmed.
The male was arrested in relation to what was described as “a serious sexual assault” in Crewe on September 27th.
Police confirmed the arrest was is in relation to a report of a sexual assault on a 16-year-old girl in Crewe.
Officers from Cheshire Police have launched an investigation following reports of a serious sexual assault involving a 16-year-old girl in Crewe.
The incident is alleged to have occurred at around 9pm on Sunday 27 September.
A 60-year-old local man was arrested in connection with the incident; he has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
As part of the investigation a small police cordon was put in place in an alleyway at the rear of Yates Street, Crewe.
This was lifted at approximately 10.30am on Monday 28 September.
The alledged incident took place in an alleyway off Yates Street, Crewe.
