Labour Candidate for Crewe West - Connor Naismith

Connor Naismith the Labour Party candidate for the Crewe West Ward has been elected after voters made their way to the polls in the delayed Cheshire East elections.

Mr Naismith beat his nearest rival, the Conservative candidate, Teja Vaddala by 185 votes.

Brian Silvester was third with 187 votes.

Speaking to Crewe News, Mr Naismith said:

I am extremely grateful to the voters of Crewe West for trusting me with their vote

I would also like to express thanks to everyone who made sure the election was carried out safely and efficiently in still very difficult circumstances

In the context of a difficult set of results nationally for the Labour party I am extremely proud that voters gave me their support this time

I know that this support cannot be taken for granted and I will do everything I can to get the best deal for all Crewe West residents going forward – whether they voted for me this time or not.

I will now immediately focus on getting to work for residents and putting my campaign pledges into action.
