The Crewe and Nantwich Labour Party have announced Connor Naismith will be their candidate in the forthcoming Crewe West by-election.
The by-election was set to take place in April this year but was postponed as a result of the Coronavirus, it was triggered after the death of Labour Councillor Brian Roberts.
Mr Naismith said:
It is an honour and a privilege to have been entrusted with fighting this election for Labour.
For too long Crewe has been held back by Westminster government and the political mismanagement of previous administrations at Cheshire East. We need more than words now. We need action to deliver on the promise of our town’s regeneration.
I am so excited to begin engaging with residents in a safe way. The pandemic means this election will be fought differently than those that have gone before, but I will do everything in my power to speak to as many of you as possible in the coming months.
Mr Naismith has previously volunteered locally helping deliver food during the initial Coronavirus lockdown, he is also an outreach officer for the newly formed Cheshire East Food Poverty Taskforce.
The campaign can be contacted at [email protected] as well as on Facebook.
We will publish the details of the other candidates as and when they are shared with us.
