Crewe Alexandra make bid to get fans back into the ground.

Crewe Alexandra make to to allow fans back into ground

Crewe Alexandra has announced that they have applied to the EFL to be one of the clubs hosting a pilot fixture which would see fans back at Gresty Road.

The football club is hoping the home fixture against MK Dons on Saturday 26th September will be selected.

Crowds have been banned from entering football stadiums as a result of the coronavirus which saw the previous season cancelled although Crewe secured promotion to League 1.

Although the new football season has begun, games so far have taken place behind closed doors.

Should the club get the go ahead, attendance will be limited to 1000 fans with a random ballot taking place amongst season ticket holders for a seat.

A computer system has been used to generate tickets in order to meet the social distancing guidelines.

Fans would be placed into seats accordingly along with the social bubble they nominated.

On the basis the club gets approval to host the pilot fixture, fans would be notified if they have been successful in the ballot by Wednesday 24th September.
